Vacancy For Call for Enumerators 

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is a global humanitarian organization with a mission to work with people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change. Across its worldwide network of 131 offices, ADRA has developed strong health expertise with a specific focus on community and first-line health facilities.

ADRA has been active in Nepal since 1987 with health projects in 29 out of 77 districts. The intervention is implemented under the UK Department for International Development (DFID) funded Nepal Family Planning Project (NFPP), which is implemented by UNFPA in collaboration with ADRA Nepal.

Vacancy For Call for Enumerators Interventions designed to addresses the determinants of family planning (FP) uptake amongst adolescents. It is a mixed method quasi-experimental study covering Sarlahi and Arghakhanchi as intervention district and Sunsari and Pyuthan as control district. Thus, ADRA Nepal in collaboration with Monitoring, Evaluation and Operational Research (MEOR) is planning to carry out Endline Survey in above mentioned 4 districts.

Minimum requirements of applicant: 

The scope of this Request for consultancy service requires an individual data collector to apply. Data Collectors (minimum 50 persons needed) are encouraged to apply, as long as they meet the minimum requirements as outlined below.

Eligibility criteria for qualitative data collectors 

  • Completed intermediate degree or bachelor’s degree in health science is preferred
  • Experience of conducting qualitative interview (focus group discussion, in-depth interview and key informant interview)
  • Knowledge of local language
  • Duration of work: 15 days for baseline data collection

Roles and responsibilities 

  • Select  appropriate  participants  as  instructed  by  central  research  team  in  coordination  with  health  facility,  ward  and municipality
  • Coordinate with supervisor in scheduling the FGD and conduct FGD.
  • Coordinate with supervisor for selection of participants for IDI. IDI participants have to be decided in consultation with health facility, ward and municipality so as to maintain the diversity and ensure generation of rich information
  • Schedule and conduct IDI.
  • Take notes and audio-record  FGD/KII,  transcribe  FGD/Interviews and translate the transcript of  FGD/Interviews. Transcription and translation have to be completed on the same day of the FGD/IDI
  • Keep back up of the audio records on regular basis
  • Safely store and submit signed consent forms to supervisor
  • Report to respective Supervisors about the work progress.

Eligibility criteria for quantitative data collector (only female) 

  • Completed intermediate degree or bachelor’s degree in health science is preferred
  • Knowledge on tablet-based data collection
  • Knowledge of local language

Duration of work: At least 25 days

Roles and responsibilities 

  • Perform sampling according to the protocol provided
  • Collect data in field
  • Appropriately store and submit signed consent to the supervisor
  • Re-check data for completeness and accuracy
  • Send collected data to the server at the end of each day (let the supervisor check your data before sending to server – Supervisor will be sending all the forms in first two days of the data collection)
  • Report to respective Supervisors on regular basis
  • Provide regular update to the MEOR/ADRA on the status of the survey
